No, the .38 special and .357 .

.38 Special and .357 Magnum rounds are the same diameter. The length's are different. I believe you can fire .357 in a .38. But not .38 in a .357.

other way around.. you can fire a .38 in a .357 mag... but the ballistics are completely different

cant own hand guns yet but have a few rifles.
remington model 770, .270 mainly just for target shooting
remington model 597 .22 cal for just shootin shit (nothing like a box of 550 rounds for $16)
remington model 1100 12 guage
i want something like a bushmaster .223 tactical rifle for fun and because there's just so damn much you can do with em, handguns are fun and i'll get one or two of those once i'm old enough

my bro has an XD-40 and its a great, and very well balanced gun, and a blast to shoot...

i myself have an H&K .45 ACP Compact, Remington 1100 Semi-Auto 12ga., and a Remington 710 .270cal. rifle...

I have a springfield xd .40 cal. stainless. i love it. there isnt alot of trigger pull to it. very easy to shoot. i have hear dof no issues with these guns, i have seen tests in books ang they are one of the most accurate and dependable guns you can get. i got the .40 cal to carry on me, i want a springfield xd .45 acp for home protection. i also have a somewhat fixed up ak47, i will have to take pics this weekend and post. i also had a ruger mini 14, but i sold it. it was also stainless. i had a ruger p89 9mm pistol, sold it also. i got my dads .357, a 12 gauge, a 30-06. i love to go to the range and practice. only prob is, ammo is starting to get really expensive.

yeah it is, even from just a couple years ago, and apparently ammo for .223 rifles is gettin to be somewhat hard to find
