lol @ some of these posts
Answers: Yep, I get BAH on top of my base pay with is around $1900.
Hmm today... I drove to work, parked, walked half a mile, changed and ate breakfast.. stood in a line outside like a chess pawn for 2 hours without talking or moving, sat back down in a chair for an hour with my flash gear on like the place was on fire while staring at a blank computer monitor (which wasn't even on).. stood in a line outside again for another hour or so like a chess pawn again and listened to the CO talk about the new frockees, went and stood behind my boss for 10 minutes while he was on the computer to annoy him so I could leave.. then I left.
Wow... there was no point in even being there today.
Nice to have an easy day though, or a couple this week rather. I get my fair share of bad ones!

What were you standing in line for?
Today at work: $hit hit the fan...wasn't my fault....and then i found out i'm denied BAS...no fault of my own. You'd think since you sleep all day and the chow hall is all the way across the base they'd grant you BAS. I guess the higher uppers are dukin it out for me. This is BS so i'm filling out missed meal forms haha

Yeah, I get BAS but they take every bit of it back away from me instantly. Ship takes it all to buy food stores.. I have to PAY to eat at the galley on base on top of that, so yeah, it sucks, but at least it is cheap (like 3 bucks a meal).
I was standing in line because they were "practicing mustering" for special evolutions... oh brother.. what a waste of time.

Well So far today I have sat here and gone over the show paper work. Went back and moved a few crate engines around. Started getting stuff lined up for the next car show and am working on some sponsership forms. It was really nice that the unveiling of our new engines went over real well.

well we threw the lines friday at midnight, got to the tow around sunrise on saturday, set out the rake and towed it around for an hour while we ate breakfast. hauled back, dumped the bag, set it back out, picked all the scallops off the deck and went to work shucking. did this atleast 30 times, finished fishing and started steaming in sunday around 9am and we finished shucking around 5pm and docked at 6pm. I cut 14 35lb buckets of meat myself and made $510 for the trip and it was our 7th trip in a row back to back. but when i got home i couldnt even open my own beer, and i passed out by the end of the 2nd one lol

got up, ate, lifted weights, did various weather tasks, listened to music, did more weather tasks, gave the CO a brief, and am currently looking at ls1.com and doing various other weather related tasks. I'm a weather Forecaster. but.. not on tv.
Did i mention, it's the same thing every day?? nothing changes. hell, even the weather is the same most days.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Went to work, logged on, went to a porn site and started typing with one hand. Same F^$&ing routine day in and day out. And to think, I get paid $40 an hour to just sit there.......
j/k
On the real side: I'm a mechanical engineer designing electro-mechanical devices (think surge control stuff, relays, power distribution bus bars, electrical switching gear, that kind of stuff). That and programming all the various machines to make said devices. The work is easy and the pay is good.

Today I am finishing an event plan for a phone conference tomorrow with a media house that wants to sponsor my racing. Yesterday I got paid in advance for a wedding I will officiate in July and today I will mget paid in advance for another wedding I will do next week. So I basically work a few hours at a time, get paid a decent rate when i work, and have a lot of time off... Until the sponsorship happens... Then I will be a lot more busy, for less money per hour, but having a whole lot of fun.
