Being a 3.0 I-6 you are correct that the big power doesn't come on until later in the rpm band. Another factor is the turbo type and size. There are a number of high output turbos where full boost is achieved at around 4K rpm. The stock twin turbo set up was configured for decent low/mid range response and high rpm power.
But at a drag strip or cruising on the highway it doesn't really matter. If you keep the rpms up and shift accordingly you are always in the meat of the power band.
Even on the old stock ct-12 turbos(With full bolt-ons and stock engine) the car is easily capable of low 12s and 11s, even 10's with a little nitrous. 120-128 traps have been routinely accomplished and documented on the stock twins, but those are the upper limits. With a large single setup and supporting mods you are looking at 9s and 10s when dialed in properly. I'm really liking the domestic and import V-8s these days, but you have to give some credit to that car considering it's age and the robustness of the engine, despite it's smaller size. Factory engines made for boost will always be a force to be reckoned with. Chevy's upcoming Z06 Supercharged SS will be a very potent car indeed.Last edited by garrettjj; 01-08-2007 at 12:34 AM.

ya i hope the supercharged vette motor finds its way into a 5th gen camaro. that would be sweet to have a factory supercharged/forged motor. soo much potential there.

Sure bud, here you go. I also saw it in Road and Track or one of the other mainsteram car mags. Basically around 650hp from a supercharged 7.0 liter. 100K and pushing for an 08 release. Seems like a good possibility, only time will tell.
