Stingray vette or GT500?

Oh there's plenty of ways to cut its weight but at 3800 lbs...it's not a pig like the ZL1.

200lbs difference while it is a difference it is just one passenger away from being the same weight. There are pros and cons to both cars. The GT500 easily wins in the hp department in stock for anyway. The ZL1 has far better suspension for road use and for track use.

I read an article that stated the GT was suicide around the track with stock tires.....squirrelly coming out of all the corners. ZL1 had better lap times. Nice car still though

the tires the GT500's come with are expensive as hell and junk on the road...a buddy of mine has one and had to swap the tires after about 60days.

You sure it was the tires fault? 60 days is way more than enough time to eat through one pair of tires.

its the tires...everybody who owns one "that I know of" has complained about them. They dont last long, but they suck anyway...

It never will. It's an inferior design, carrying a lot more weight, and on smaller tires. The GT500 wasn't ever really thought of to compete with the ZR1 or ZO6 though. Different cars for different sets of buyers IMO

The GT500s have done quite well on tracks with stock tires. They aren't that bad. I know people who have taken the cars to track days on the stock rubber. And overall the ZL1 is quicker on road courses, but the GT500 isn't far behind when equipped with the trackpack and all that, and in a couple of instances has posted as good a lap around certain tracks as the ZL1.

My buy would be the gt-500. I'm no mustang guy but that car is not just any mustang. love the new 5.0 and I love the 5.8 I ust wish new cars had more engine options like the cars of the 60-70s i'd love to see the 3.7 eco in a mustang or even a gm tt v-6 in a Camaro...

Judging by your opinion of the 5th gen, you're one of those folks who hates whenever they change the status quo on certain cars. We cant all have 4th gen Pontiacs forever.

Read an article yesterday that had Tony Steward driving it on GM's test track. After tearing it up on the track he said it drove better then any other Corvette he's driven. Order 3 of them, one for him, 2 for employees.
