Supposed to meet around lunch tomorrow. Anything I should look for? he said theres a little oil leak around the oil filter. He doesnt know much about cars, hes been riding around without a/c with a bad serpentine belt and had to get his neighbors help to replace it. They replaced it and he said the air works fine now.

I wouldn't do it man, take your time and probably better off selling your car for a good amount and finding one that is better, I'm sure you could find a high mileage 6 speed WS.6 for $5500ish that has been cared for.

I had a very similar 98 about a year ago that I ended up selling because I just lost interest in fixing cosmetic things on her, she had 198k miles when I sold her for $3k also but the interior was in significant better shape than that.

What I do with all use cars that I buy is I do a 100% tune up and fluids change.

plugs, wires, filters, oil, coolant, trans fluid, break, even the rear end.

I do it because that way I know 100% that they are all good plus I can see just how well maintained the car was. Neglect in these areas means neglect in the big stuff.

I suggest before doing any mods repair and restore the stuff that needs fixed. However doesn't mean you have to settle for stock parts. If something comes up and it's on the list to be upgraded, I do it then.

Yup, I do the same but in Ressurected's situation changing fluids won't restore any wear that has been already done by previous neglect.

STATUS UPDATE: The black 98 was a bust. This guy was a complete idiot that knew nothing about cars AT ALL. I met up with him to test drive it, and the rear end was screaming the whole time. I asked whens the last time the rear diff fluid was checked? his response "to be honest i didnt know there was a rear diff fluid to check" I got on it and the check engine light came on and it felt like HALF the power of my volvo. not to mention the interior was COMPLETELY destroyed, EVERY PANEL would have to be replaced, and the paint was all scratched up, she would need painting. :-( soooo, i went to get a closer look at the ws6 and to my surprise, the damage isnt near as bad as i thought. the impact bar nor the frame/sub frame were harmed, just a tiny dent on the lower a arm and the lower radiator support was pushed in a tiny bit but can be straightened back out. question though, does the headlight assembly just hang on the upper radiator support/piece that runs side to side? is there nothing but space between the bumper cover under the headlights? Also, the interior was VERY clean, not 1 tear in the seats nor 1 crack in the dash, headliner is flawless. I should be able to get a bumper cover, $350 bucks at hawks 3rd gen, a fender, a headlight assembly a radiator and a wheel/tire and be able to drive it till I can save up enough to have it painted. DONATIONS WELCOME!!!!!!!! All provided hes still got it next weekend.
