I talked to a few techs at the dealership my dad works at and I guess the 3.6 is completely junk. The timing chain stretches at like 40k miles along with a few other things I don't remember. I can get more info if its wanted.

Not a bad vehicle if you want a 2 door SUV and do not care to much about MPGs. They can be fun to play with

Just don't take it off road.

    Google FJ Stress Fractures

The FJ does not have a B pillar since it uses a suicide door design.

Toyota didn't build the platform rigid enough to take any flexing and the firewall will rip away from the chassis.

oh yeah? i never read about that, just issues with fender wells cracking in the early models.

but yeah, no kids, two dogs, low mileage for both of us...

for some reason she likes them, she just really needs something she can haul stuff around in and run over curbs, lol

Why don't you look at the NEW 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds. They have a completely new drivetrain for '12. Very good reviews. I'm going to sell my T/A and my Yukon and get me one of them. You can get a Sport S optioned right for about 30K STICKER, so figure 2500-3000 off that price.

I think all Toyota trucks have had frame issues at some point.

Dealership near our place in Beaver Springs has an '09 G8 GT with 12,000 on the clock that is right in your price range. I drove the car a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it, but we ended up buying a '12 Challenger instead.

Nah. Went with the 305 horse Pentastar V6. She has a pretty long commute and likes to get through an entire week on a single tank of gas.

that was where we started actually.....the plan the last couple years is to get a g8 gt. Now that the time is approaching though she wants front or 4 wheel drive for the winter. I agree....she drives 60ish miles each way to work and I already worry about her enough so I'd like to have her in the safest thing we can find that fits our needs.

2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty MW3 edition then

I thought I read earlier in the thread something about a headlight issue with the Malibu's or maybe it was Impala's. I had to change out my low-beam on the passenger side on Thanksgiving. Hopefully this isn't a regular occurrence as the car is only a 2008.
