Wow do I love the 280. I was a kid when my father had his and I cried when he got rid of it. Even as a lil tyke I had an abnormal attachment to cars he had a 1983 280ZX 2+2 fully loaded except for leather. As with many cars of its kind it eventually turned into a mountain of rust. I still didn't want him to get rid of it. Even though you could see the asphalt through the floor of the car.

My dad also had a 280Z that he got rid of when my older brother took it for a joy ride and a did a 540 in it and put in the ditch where a State Trooper found him trying to pull it out. Needless to say the trooper saw the skid marks figured out what happened and promptly called my parents.

I had a 1970 Firebird Formula then I totaled it and got a 1973 LeMans Sport, blew the engine in that. I was in auto shop so I rebuilt the engine with HI-PO additions (cam, intake, carb, headers) and sold it to my buddy when I went in the military.

I still own that same IROC (Had it for over 4 years now), although due to multiple consecutive problems (Electrical troubles, cooling problems, shattered rear window, blown head gasket), it's been a while since I've driven it for a good length of time.

i believe he has a 305 tpi. the 350 tpi as far as i remember was only available with a slushbox.

305 TPI, the 350 wasn't available in 86. And no, it's a 4spd auto.

Yep. My car was factory rated at 190hp, 285tq
