Don't post like a child if you don't want to called kiddo, kiddo.
For every one person that says 'my so and so has 200,000 miles on it and never done anything to it but proper maintanence!', there's a gaggle of people saying 'my so and so has 50,000 miles on it and it's a rattle trap piece of garbage with a replaced transmission'.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
[QUOTE=MeGoFast;1908773]failed cats and replaced window regulators on my 2000SS with less then 90k milesQUOTE]
GM sent out a letter stating the CATs are covered over 100,000 miles, if you already paid for the repair they will reimbursed you.
Paint finishes and clear coat finishes, I would rather have a paint issure then rust through, which imports where notorious for through out the 80s. hmmm honda, toyota etc and datsun.. lol
Lets not forgot any time you see a blue smoke trail behind a sputtering car, its usually a POS 80s, early 90s import. Chicagoland is full of them, yet all of the abused taxi cabs are domestics, beat to hell but burning clean and running smooth
with your throught, meaning what you just wrote, I am sure you understand for any mass produced man made object there are a few bad ones out of the thousands made. Sounds like your camaro is one of the bad ones.
my 2001 z28 m6, 113,000 miles. the only thing that ever went out was the water pump. I didnt start heavily modding the car until around the 100,000 mark, installed a big cam, strange s60 and other parts, car runs great and no issues. Bought the car with 11k on it, so I know its history very well.
another friend of mine 2000 SS. 220,000 miles on the clock and no issues. bought the car new.
every car maker has their shit cars, their shit years and good years.
Look how strong dodge came back in the 90s, yet around 98 dodge was notarious for wheels falling off due to rusting out ball joints from avengers to dakotas. This really pissed off consumers because of the endangerment to their lives and angered HTSA.
marketing and producing cars is a race for each auto maker, and even though they are using the latest technology to design the cars, errors will happen.
Latest tech as in, CATIA and UNIgraphics CAD, Hypermesh and Ansys FEA analysis, along with real world testing, auto makers are at the mercy of the public to deliver fast. The auto industry is a revolving door of who is in the lead while others are either suffering or feasting on the evolution of it.
GM will bounce back, but it does take support. Sadly if the big 3 fail then yeah this country will hurt.
As i stated before I would buy a volvo or audi before going korean or jap, even though my gf has a 2006 accord and its a good little car.
btw i agree dont care of the retro throwback on the new camaro, my next car will be a corvette parked next to my 01 z28

Like the Nissan GTR's that are blowing transmissions left and right and costs owners $20,000 to replace, NOT covered under warranty??
Like the Toyota pickups that were made of such shitty metal that their frames rusted completely through and broke in half as you're driving down the highway??
Like the Nissan 2.5's and VQ series that go through piston rings like most cars go through oil changes??
Like the Toyota 2.2 sludge motors of the late 90's that would plug up so badly with sludge that the motor would stop turning completely?? And of course Toyota denied all warranty claims, saying it was because people didn't change their oil.
Like the 2007 and newer Honda Civic Si's that are having such bad transmission problems that its made national news?? Cars with less than 2K miles on them and all the synchros are shot. Hondas answer?? Put in a new trans, and we'll replace it again at 4K miles.
Like the new Toyota Tundras that are blowing transmissions and snapping camshafts, brand new off the dealer lot?? Not to mention the tailgates falling off from putting more than 50lbs on them, JUNK.
And lets not forget the mid 90's Honda Civics that go through head gaskets no matter what you do. The heads are defective from the factory, Honda basically told owners to go pound sand.
Jap imports are built like shit. I don't like getting into a car and feeling like the whimpy ass shifter is going to break off in my hand if I shift too hard. My friend broke the shifter 3 time in his Scion. Why?? Because its garbage designed by people who are 5 feet tall and don't know what the word heavy duty means.
I could go on all day, but it makes no difference because you are an ignorant fanboy.
You want to talk about throwing money away?? Keep giving your money away to Asia. They love paying people $3 a day to build cars and voiding your warranty when they discover a major design defect. People like you are the reason this country is so screwed up. You are the same type of person that would buy a new Tundra just because its a Toyota, even though its been proven to be a piece of shit and the Silverado, F-150, and Ram are better in every single respect. Pathetic.

I wouldn't buy a Hyundai if they were the last company on the planet. They have and always will be poorly designed and engieered cars.
Hyundai puts on a good show. They have improved the quality of their exterior panel fitment, paint (used to be thinner than wax paper), and interiors. But its the same piss poor powertrains and chassis components under the car that still make it a Hyundai.
If you read the reviews, you'll see that they all complain that the new Genesis has an extreme amount of driveline lash when you take off or shift. Its caused by poor tolerances and cheap components used in the driveline. Everyone praises Hyundai now, but you'll see new Camaros still going strong 20 years from now when the Genesis will long be demoted to salvage yards with rotten chassis and broken drivetrains.
