Jodi, sorry the thread got a little out of hand, but it has resolved itself.
To answer your question about not getting back in touch with you to meet up was because of the following:
Once we realized the motor had to be pulled, I was to be in the State Fair of Texas F-body car show Oct. 16th. I ended up having to fly from KC back to Dallas that week to prep the SS for the show. Then, I flew back to KC the 1st weekend in Nov. and was there for a good 2 weeks working on the car. During that time, I had worked out sale of the vehicle. So once I got it fixed, I got it straight back to Dallas and off the road since it was sold.
So yes, not meeting up falls on me.

I wouldn't say they are expensive, more like they are priced more than they are worth/marked up for no good reason.
I buy all kinds of parts for the grand prix when stuff wears out and it's priced fairly. I mean I did all the ball joints, replaced the LCAs, inner/outer tie rods, new sway bar/bushings, and serpentine belt for like $225. You probably can't even get 3pt subframe connectors for an F-body for that.

Silver/Black- 00' z28-R.I.P 00' WS6 M6
well what a friendly little thread we have here lol
IDK bro, when it comes to any sports car, parts are gonna be a bit more expensive than your run of the mill econo-shit box. It really doesn't get all that much better than a f-body when it comes to performance part pricing. Like someone else already mentioned, yeh mustangs are a bitter cheaper to repair and soup up, but those shit heaps plague the roads like mosquitoes, they're freaking everywhere. I'm a broke ass college student, working 32hrs a week, while going to school full time and I can still afford to put a decent amount of mods on my car. I feel like any adult with a half-way decent full time job should be able to afford a f-body and then some.
Now, to the issue of the pricing of these cars. I must agree that many of these cars are horrendously overpriced. At the end of the day these cars are just firbirds and camaros with small block v-8s in em, nuttin to cry home about at all. Yes they are reasonably rare but that in no way warrants a 14k price tag for just a v8 firebird. I can understand maybe a CETA or a 99 anniversary for that price, but nothing more, unless we're talking a fully built car. Now about 10 years down the road when most of these cars have been raped, pillaged, and molested, I can understand some of these price tags, but not for the time being.
Furthermore these cars aren't all that great. Shit interior, shit build quality, shit stock suspension, shit rear end, the list goes on. GM cut alot of corners with these cars. They're only saving grace is their looks, a pretty decent engine that can make good power-reliably, and T56s which can handle good power and decent abuse. None of that equals a 10k+ price tag for a decade old car.
There's a reason the f-body is referred to as the middle class man's sport's car.Last edited by LeadFarmer; 08-23-2012 at 08:23 PM.
