I have and 02 Z28 A4 with a 2500 converter and built trans with gutted cats, hooke cat back, lid, ported maf, free ram air, TB bypass, and Diablo tune and 3.27 gears. I ran 12.9@106 on street tires with wheel spin in 1st and 2nd.

My 02 SS convertable with an auto and 3.23's and still bone stock with just an SLP lid, 3,820 lbs. race weight went 13.78 at 102.52 mph.
Now I have ported the throttle body, gutted cats, ASP pulley, and I am playing with HPtuner, removed torque management, have the trans shifting nice,,, and now playing with fuel and timing at the moment. Once that is dialed in it's back to the track for another assessment. After that more mods are in store Larry.
