Yup, i'm 16. I'm on my second '72 c10 because of the stupid fuckers at Midas, but i'll save my anger and story for another time. What kind of block (may be a 265 smogger, people threw in whatever) and what all is the rest of the set-up? What are yall's goals? I plan on saving for patriot vortec heads in the future, and keeping my 350 shortblock now and then. But this is only because my compression and oil pressure, engine noises etc. is good. You have to figure out how good of shape your shortblock is in first. By the time you piecemeal a first gen small block like me, especially if the truck is a beater w/o factory air and power steering unlike me (I wanted to keep my stock accessories) you just as well get a 5.3. Mush better in the long run
