Worked on a roof today putting up steel for about 4 hours......then worked for a solid 5.5 hours on swapping out the EGR on my Hemi Jeep.

Dodge cant move the alternator 1/4 inch so its not a pita? I spend 3 hours getting ONE FREAKING bolt out! Dropped a wrench and had to unbolt the skid plate to get the smurfer out of there! The Jeep does run much smoother though.

    What a day......

Too damn hot. I was sweating buckets prepping the T/A and swapping out to the track tires.

Dan, I dropped a nut for the alternator during the Durango coolant swap. Looked for about 5 mintes without finding it and just went and got another one out of the bin. Some things are just no worth the effort.

How are we looking for the weekend?

I will be somewhere. Your best bet is to call first. Should have cell service no matter where I go, if not, you can try the house as well.

Neighbors skid steer is leaking hydraulic fluid from a sending unit. Gonna change that out tomorrow night, and I don't think he'll have a chance to help me out with the final grading til saturday. Hopefully I can have an evening or two off.

Dave (Zappers old car) is in and Rusty said he is as well. I sure hope Rusty goes, I want my hands on that Z06! The Diplomat and Nate going as well?

You are right about the wrench. Did I mention I "made" a few tools? lol I ground down two small 10mm wrenches that broke because they were to thin and then I decided to modify a few sockets. That turned out to NOT work so well but eventually I got the damn bolt out. The Jeep is SO much smoother now. I unhooked the battery and thus it resent the trip meeter and what not but letting it sit at idle for a few minutes and then driving to Westfield, around town a few times, and then home I averaged over 20 mpgs. Gas mileage is supposed to improve. I am thinking that if FROST gets going on the Hemi engine PCM re-tuning I am going to have him beef up the Jeep a little. You are right though, some things are not worth looking for. I had everything out in 15 minutes and everything back in within 15 minutes. However.....that one bolt kicked my ass for hours. To make it easier if I ever have to do it again I shortened the one bolt. If not I you have to take the alternator off in order to back it out. I wont let you know "exactly" how I got it out. I put a few nuts on it and ground it down on the grinder to the fist nut and then backed them off to clean the last thread and it worked like a gem. I saw it on-line so thats where I got the idea.

Oh, and all of my home-made tools are now useless for anything else.

Perhaps on the trucks it is. The Jeep not so much. 3 of 4 bolts is a snap. The issue is that the one bolt is behind the alternator and I dont feel the need to remove that piece of shit. Just like the oil filter is at a damn angle in my Jeep, not sure if it is in the trucks or not.

Without that one bolt I would have it out and back in within 30-40 minues no problem.

Yes, played in a golf league this Monday, two matches and shot 34 and 33 for a 67 (-5) . One of Jeffs "customers" husband was my partner. I started out with a birdie and on the next hole put it in on the 2nd shot from 165 yards. Nice high 8-iron hit 1 foot in front of the hole and then rolled in. lol

So far my 3 times as a sub in the league are killing my handi. 34, 34, and 33......not looking good. Its why my dad and I got dicked in out member-member and only got 2nd. We shot -21 for two days vs. -22.
