    "QB" was coming down the hall carrying a couple of packs of printer paper as I was going through a security door. The manners my mom instilled took over and I held the door for her. Then she stops just shy of it to talk with someone (who did start the conversation) and I held it for about ten seconds. I figured she wasn't gonna finish anytime soon, so I let go and started walking. Of course at that instant she says "thanks John" and I figure she's gonna come though. I reach back and grab the door again, and damned if I didn't twist my back out of place.

    Yeah, thanks. Figures.

    I've gotta start being more of an asshole.

    Been there. It sucks. Start negotiations with the insurance company to get a smaller payout, but the option to buy the car back. You'd be surprised what isn't really "totalled".

    Regardless, it still hurts her more when the person at fault doesn't have insurance to cover the expenses. Insurance companies will nail someone for anything under the sun these days. I know, the same thing happened to me.
