Wow...we have identical motors
I ran Castrol GTX 10-30 the first 5 hours of life and then ran a quality 10-30 synthetic ever since. My compression/UOA's are stellar. I did not "baby it" at all the first 5 hours by the way. Quality synthetics would be Amsoil/Pennzoil Platinum or Shaeffers. It is as important to use a quality filter. No Fram for sure. Amsoil/WIX/NAPA are top shelf. Be damn sure you have a sealed cold air intake. Amsoil or AEM dry filters are the best. K&N doesnt filter for shit.

I think most would advocate the SLP setup for the FBodies. But you can run the Amsoil or AEM panel dry filters in the SLP or Volant either one.

Group III or Group IV?
AMSOIL 100% Synthetic 10W-30 Motor Oil (ATM) is a Group IV PAO based oil and Extended Life 10W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil (XLT) is Group III based oil.
Both are really good motor oils. If cost is not issue, I'd go with the 100% synthetic (ATM)
For more reading on base oils and the great debate read THIS LS1.com thread.

Think with your dipstick!
I sent my first UOA sample of Castrol Edge to Blackstone today. I changed at 3,500M. I was going to change at 5,000M to have the same interval as PP 10/30.
This weekend I saw those outrageous Castrol ads on Speedvision. So I changed today, and put in a fresh fill of Edge 10/30. 5,000M and then a Dyson Analysis.
The truth will be posted.

What weight Amsoil for a bolt-on LS1? 0w30 or 10w30?

I'll only drive 2k miles at most this summer. So the 5w30 or 10w30 would be fine?

Does anyone know the part # for the Wix oil filter that is longer than the stock one? I have the K&N M-206 I think it is, and want to get the longer Wix one.

Just ordered some 5w30 and a Wix 51522 oil filter. Hope that's the right filter. Went through your site CompSyn.

Still in specs.
Well, I’m not sure where Blackstoned is getting their numbers but the oil is still within specs as far as the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is concerned.
SAE 30 GRADE RANGE (cST) = 9.30-12.49 VISCOSITY @ 100deg C.
The Castrol Edge Product Data Sheet shows the 10W-30 viscosity of 9.82 @ 100deg C.
The UOA report shows 9.67 @ 100 degree C. So 9.67 is between 9.30 and 12.49 and still within spec. That 0.15 difference in viscosity is probably nothing more than testing noise and lab fluctuation.
