If a good QB can be found and is able to step in and pick team up and play there ass off then yes we cowboy fans can have our Cinderella ending

Daunte Culpepper might be the best available - Cowboys are doomed I watched part of the game and was amused. I wish I'd seen Romo get taken down.

Yeah, dallas was clicking last nite pretty good and getting into the groove on offense when romo got knocked out. Damn whole game dallas had like less than 5 penalties? That is an accomplishment in itself

I think most are giving Romo too much credit. Kitna sucks but he doesn't suck a whole lot more than Romo. It also has nothing to do with their D allowing 500 yards. They have issues and some surprising issues at that......at the beginning of the season I think everyone had higher hopes for them. They need a new coach (d-coordinator), offensive coordinator, and QB. Basically they need to work from the top down. They have talent on the field....it's just not being used correctly.

They have a good qb. They need a new coaching staff to coach and not let the players get away with things. I can almost garuntee you that if cowher was in there romo would act differently

Probably so, but it isn't Romo that's getting the stupid & crippling 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalties, and other major penalties.

Also, Romo didn't give up 41 points last night either

Sad that I hit that nail on the head

Romo got hit because a lineman made a mistake, didn't check his guy and that guy got Romo. After that it was a game changer, you might as well call it a whole new game that was played. No way would the Giants have been able to win if Romo had not gotten hurt, the outcome would have been very different. Giants would have lost and lost in a big way.
It was a RB that missed his assignment, not a lineman I believe.

I agree, the team went in the toilet when Romo went down.

Romo puts up numbers, but I do not think he is a QB that will lead Dallas to a Super Bowl, no matter who the coach is. Dallas has very good skill players, among the best in the league. They are definitely undisciplined and need a strong head coach. Wade and Jason need to be relieved of duties though. I don't know that Cowher will come to Dallas. He would want to tell JJ to phuck off and headstrong coaches usually don't fit well under JJ, see Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells. JJ likes puppets that will do whatever he wants.

Ran to the corner store quick....flipped on the local sports talk radio channel.
All calling for McDaniels to be fired.

    Big surprise.

true true, but i have a good ole hunch that if the coaching staff was not so damn passive then the players including romo would have a completely different outlook and mindset on and off the field.

put it this way, if dallas cut romo and he went say to the redskins with a good headstrong offensive minded coach and they already have a pretty good defense the redskins would rape

I would give Romo another chance under a different coaching staff, but would evaluate him thoroughly. He has ability, but I question whether he has superstar potential. I think that is more or less what you are stating too.

I'd consider Romo an upgrade over McNabb, though I fear that Romo would find a way to choke and ruin a season.

Trying not to turn this into a Cowboy only thread but still no news out of D. So who's the back up to the "back up"?

Yep. The general mentality is that a backup can have one bad game when he's first called up before they panic, since he's rusty and hasn't played in a long time and all that. If he chokes a second time, then perhaps the 3rd stringer will come in. But really, it pretty much doesn't matter now. If they lose again it definitely won't matter as the season will be absolutely lost. So then they might play the 3rd stringer just to get him practice.

says the guy who's team has a worse record than the frigin Raiders. I would spend my time worrying about 3 other teams than the saints right now. Namely the 9ers, Lions, and Bills. They're the only thing keep your ass off rock bottom at the moment.
