Shipping your current furniture is gonna cost a big chunk of $$$. It would be cheaper to sell your existing furniture then just buy stuff once there. That saves you the money of shipping plus you could earn a few bucks from the sales. But if your furniture has high sentimental value....then that's a different story. With the economy down, I'm sure buying furniture there will be rather inexpensive. Just my .02

Plus gas. Check to see if they charge mileage too. Look through your local yellow pages for "non-brand name" moving trucks. Should be cheaper.

That was including the mileage. .79cents a mile. Plus like 40 bucks and gas. That's crazyy. I think im definitely going to sell all my furniture and buy new.

if i didnt get most of my furniture i have right now given to me . . i would have gone to goodwill. they always have cheap ass stuff, usually in decent shape. id do that when you get down there.

How sketchy can it be....you have their truck. Although you'll have to use your credit card to secure the truck.

ugh i have two drill weekends this month

I used to like drill weekends when I was attached to an F/A-18 squadron only 5 miles from my house. Long story short but the Navy left that base and I had to drive 20 miles to a helicopter squadron which didn't even have a billet for my rate. It began to suck and I then started dreading drill weekends. I finally just got out after that.
