So far I've been able to do it subtly all the way up to telling someone to get the f-bomb out of a thread....1st and only warning so far....That, and I'm not a very good asshole, either...but I'm working on it

Stock vs. Stock - an '89 Turbo Trans Am will run right along side an LS1

the '81 can't even be compared in the same sentence as the '89

Never seen an 89 turbo, so you're probly right. I'm just going off of my experience, and with GM I have not much of that....my old S-10, an Impala, and my SS...oh, and my mom's old Jimmy's she had, a 93 and a 98...so I don't know jack, aside from what I've learned about my car and what I've read on this site.

'81 TTA - 301 ci, small turbo, small cylinder heads = what you experienced

'89 TTA - turbo v-6 from the Buick GN = mid-low 13's (just like the LS1) - super easy to mod

IMO the muscle car era has been reborn since then, but the engines are much leaner and more compact, to reduce weight and space, and get the same or more power. Just because it doesn't eat 10 gallons of gas a mile doesn't mean it's not muscle.

That was the first thought to come into my head, that it had to be a similar engine to the GN to produce that much power. When was the GN produced...I only know of the 87?
