9t8z28 you seem like you know a lot about exhaust is there really any gain with a catback vs. muffler back with both systems same muffler on a stock y pipe car? As i have said before it is necked down to smaller then 3" at the end of the y pipe so i do not see how a 3" pipe going to the muffler will help power wise if it is being choked down before that. Am i right?

You are correct. The stock Y-pipe is pretty restrictive, but you will see no gain with the 3" midpipe vs. 2.75.

ah. i was close. i just thought it was 3 because that's the inlet size on the muffler. i looked at it again today and it has a weird weld on it from the shop making it fit up and everything.
