Adding HP isn't always the way to get faster.
My Moser 9" made my dyno numbers lower than with the stock 10 bolt. But I knocked off .5 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

how much will my mpg decrease ?

Depends on the size of the stall and how you drive it.
    Not sure really though.

    Sorta.
It won't act like it is in neutral. When you step on the pedal, the RPM's will go to your stall level allowing the motor to be in its powerband.
There is a lockup speed at which this won't happen.

Really, anything past this, those with stalled cars will have to fill you in on the finer details.

Lockup isn't necessarily locked after a certain speed, it depends on the load % on the engine. I can rev mine at any speed cruising, it slides right out of lockup and revs as if in neutral until it hits 3600 and then it grabs like crazy.

highway MPG wont' suffer at all because of lockup, around town depends on how much you use the "stall".

I could get 22mpg on the highway and 18 in the city. My converter doesn't lockup until about 40mph.. which kind of sucks with 30mph speed limits.
