No...I actually don't mind paying more for Sam Adams because it tastes far better than the piss ass beers noted in the survey. My days of chugging natty lite for a $2 fee ended long ago in my undergrad college days. Now, I drink beer for it's taste and I have no problem paying for quality beer.

As for your girlfriend's dad, he's a distributor and not likely a beer connoisseur. I've met plenty of teenagers that peddle electronics and claim to be experts yet they don't know jack shit about what they're really pushing. (Same for car dealers). I'm afraid that you're girl's dad falls into this category as well.

FWIW, I grew up thinking that bud was the standard by which beer should be judged. Fortunately, I'm wise enough to figure out for myself that not everything I'm told growing up is necessarily true. Maybe someday you'll be able to think for yourself too!
