So you are saying ontop of the 50 dollar food we are paying for, ontop of the 2 dollar cokes, ontop of your paycheck regardless of how much you get payed if its that small and you live on tips...we should still tip 20% for ok service and 40% for awesome service
Get real i will never tip above 15% ever. Okay service maybe 5% shitty service gets a big old goose egg.
Regardless of the old (you go there to be served), or (we deal with alot and get payed a little) argument i go there for food i will not get at any other place when i go out. Not to spend extra money for someone to do their job.
I swear what happpened to being happy with what you got. People think they deserve the world.

Wow un-fucking real you guys have the self control of a angel. If she brought the tip back i would demand the manager and try to get the owners number, also get my money refunded for the insane shit she pulled in public.
You guys need to call the owner and get her canned. That is unreal to bring the money back.

Another thing about "servers", yes they have the right to make a living for doing a good job but theres this notion that they should make fuckin 60 k plus these days. The money they pull in a night would really shock you. The title these days is SERVER how about serving the customer. Your not makin anything, preparing anything, fuck it, I really could go get my own food to be honest. If the food and atmosphere is good, the server really is jus there because thats the way it is. Its one of these customary things that they take for granted. Oddly enough some of the best service ive ever had was at the local TGI Fridays.

me and 2 of my buddys were at the bar last night, and we got the bill at then end of the night, and the waitress had added at least 6 or 7 drinks onto our bill that we didn't drink... I only had 4 drinks, and was still sober.
I was keeping track of what my buddys were drinking and there is no way that those extra drinks on the bill were served to us... I told her there was a mistake and she said "no... its all there"
So she adds on drinks (because whose side are they going to take) and then she expects a larger tip because of the larger bill.
Scandalous bitch... i was pissed

Prolly the best thing youve ever said....or only good thing, whichever one suits you more.
This actually happened to me in January. I disputed that fucker on my debit card and called the "food and beverage director."
Best thing you can do.
My ex always wanted to know what I was tipping. Real fucking annoying. Cuz guess what she did for a living? Thats right, she was a server. I always tipped over 20%, hoping that theyd remember me next time and serve me free drinks.
See, to me, thats where it counts. A bar that serves you free drinks deserves extra. Theyre putting their job on the line to keep you smiling.
Funny how someone mentioned Fridays. Years ago, a trustworthy bartender was so good to me and my fellow drinkers. Two hours of drinking and the bill was always $10. Gave him $60 as a thank you.
On the flip side, a girl at local Ale House does the same thing. I gave her a big tip. Next time I came in she was good as always, but I didnt tip as big. She asked why and I said, look I appreciate your efforts and I will still pay you over 20%, but I cant afford to pay you over 50% everytime.
She understood.

Anyone else that is 'just doing their job' will get 20%.
Anyone that sucks will get a "goose egg."
And yes, I have left zero as a tip on more than 1 occasion.

waitress is a thankless job, personally if i was one in a high end place i'd love to hear and respond to all your little requests for this and that.Probably add a little spit or left overs from other tables, maybe a little ear wax or better yet some juice from a tampon on your seafood pasta dish!Stop yer bitching and thank your lucky stars you can afford to eat out,let alone 200 dollars meal!Christ i swear when i see people bitch about such petty sheeet i could just PUKE ALL OVER THEM.

You obviously do not eat at alot of high end restaraunts...
if i was paying 200 for a fucking meal, you bet your ass i want some service, and damn good service at that.
If i am eating at a shithole denny's or something... and the service is shit... not a huge deal (would still tip according to level of service) but its not like i would leave there in a bad mood.
High end restaraunt = high end service

This is right here is what we are talking about. Thankless...yeah even if you pull 5 dollars from each person you serve you still come out ahead than when you are cleaning bathrooms.
Also Not alot of people are as trashy as you and would honestly report you for doing that crap to peoples food. I know personally the managers at a local place and they have fired people for giving out chips from another table. Heaven forbid someone caught something from your re-used tampon you can go to prison for that nasty shit.
When you are a waitress you are there to do as the customer tells you. If you obey you get a treat at the end. Why do we need to give you extra money for a job you are supposed to be doing anyway? Why do i need to wait for you at your job?
Oh I also never let them bring me a corrected order if its wrong, because im smart enough to know some classy person like yourself would be upset they had to waddle back to the kitchen and fix what they messed up.
Also usually people in a high end place are kissing ass the whole time. When someone like you slips in and acts like you need 50 dollars ontop of a 60 dollar bill thats when shit hits the fan.
