Some knuckehead at the Chrylser dealership was going on and on about the crossfire. He said it was a true sports car. He said "did you know that this car will do 160mph". I said my Formula sitting right there is rated to a top speed of like 163mph. He says "no way". "There is no way your Firebird will do over 120mph. They are governed to 120mph." I told him he was wrong but he assured me different. I told him that I had it up to almost 150mph just a few weeks earlier. He shook his head no and told me I was mistaken. I told him I had the v8 not the v6. He stood his ground. Well he lost a sale because I wasn't there to buy a stupid Crossfire, I was there to buy a Jeep. My wife wanted a Liberty. I was so pissed that we left. We drove over to the Subaru dealership and my wife drove off in a new Forester XT. Hell the Forester XT would kick the shit out of that Crossfire.

and I thought this was gonna be a GT500 bashing thread
I had a Roush experience @ Atco. I actually laughed when the guy told me what hes been running all night (after we already discussed the price) and I think I hurt his feelings

the crossfire is a total piece of shit. its basically mercedes last generation slk with spit shined chrysler badges on it resold to you with some chrysler stupidity engineered into it. they are overpriced polished turds. theres nothing pure sports car about it, and they wont hit 160 down a hill with a tailwind. the srt6 is quick but i cant possibly see why anyone would buy one when you can buy a vette with a 6spd stick for prolly cheaper with rebates and plans and what not. thats one thing i really hate about mercedes benz, none of their really fast cars are available in a stick.

The corssfire srt flopped, no question. But it was a good performer. It's top speed was governed to 155mph, so the comment about it not doing 160 is true, but a little unfair to be used as a measure if its performance.
