If your in a major city or even suburban area, the 3rd party metro, tmobile, any of those are the best options, 30-60$ a month unlimited everything good way to go, once you get out of there the cell and data signal tends to drop, I was like 35th anv when my att bill was 180$ a month before I gave the big up yours to att and went to tmobile,

Ha, I don't even do that. I don't facebook, twit, type chat, text, instant message, or any of that social media junk. I get on a couple of websites on the home computer, I can send emails and such, and that's it. What you see here is about all I do that is computer oriented.
I have an old flip cell phone that rings and calls out, that's all it does, $25 a month. I carry it mainly for my wife and son to contact me if need be. Other than that I couldn't care less about having the latest smart phone with all the bells and whistles, just not for me. I don't need to be on the internet 24-7, and I can wait till I get home to check emails, and I already have a camera that takes pictures "shrug".

So what does people refusing to keep up with the times have to do with the thread lol. Damn I thought my parents were technologically impaired some of you make them look like Bill Gates lol. No offense btw just messing with you guys.
I on the other hand am on my phone more than a computer. My bill with Verizon isn't much $130 for two cell phones with unlimited text and 10 gigabytes of data.Last edited by 98TransAmWs-6; 03-04-2014 at 07:40 PM.

I think Scott received more than enough information on how to diagnose and fix his thermostat. It's now up to him how he wants to use this information to fix his car. So a discusssion about anything else at this point is of no consequence in my opinion and quite frankly, it's interesting conversation
What I got from this thread is that people actually have cell phone bills well over $100 a month, which boggles my mind. I had no idea. No wonder people can't afford to fix their cars properly.

My comments are not intended towards you or anyone else here. Just pointing out the fact in general, and those people know who they are.
Case in point, I had a guy email me the other day about some differentials I have forsale. I knocked the price in half and he still wanted to dicker over $30 because he said he needed that money to fill his gas tank to get here, and all this time he was contacting me back and forth on his fancy smart phone, which I'm sure cost money every time he emailed, or likely another kid with $100 monthly phone bill.
Stupid kids, that tells me right away where his priorities are. I killed the deal and moved on to the next guy.

You guys are hilarious. If I couldn't afford a smartphone I wouldn't have one. But 130 a month for two smartphones with unlimited text and 10 gigabytes data each is pretty cheap if you ask me. I don't have a home phone so I don't have a bill for that.
I am in agreement I don't understand going broke over a smartphone. Most of the people I know are like that.

They had a national poll the other day over this Lint thing, asking people what they would hate to give up the most. number one answer would you believe was their smart phones. What a surprise. Tells me the kind of lame ass society we have nowadays. No wonder these people can't make a decision to save their life. Don't mean to sound blunt, but I call it the way I see it.

I need a smartphone for several reasons...
1 - I have over 200 accounts with customers who purchase from me and they need to be able to get a hold of me and e-mail me. I need to provide good customer service so I need access to this information at all times so i can respond quickly.
2 - I travel for a living so I need access to Google Maps or similar for routing and accessing my customer locations accurately.
3 - Being on the road, I do not have access to a computer all the time. My phone is my computer. I have close to 900 contacts in my phone, most of them business. Their addresses, business phone #'s, cell phone #'s, e-mail addresses, etc is at the tip of my finger at all times.
4 - I use the LS1 app for logging into and posting to this site from my phone. If I had to do it from a laptop, you would never see me (most important reason lol)

^^^I changed my spark plugs on Too Fast 2 days ago. Also, I changed the thermostat on our Trailblazer, does this count towards the OP?
Glad I have no cell phone bill,
Steve
