Ankle biters like we have make a hellofa lot of noise if they hear someone at the door, window, or in the backyard. Read somewhere years ago where actual thieves were interviewed about their tactics and they hated the small noisy dogs worse than the big ones.

I wouldn't doubt it. No one can get to any entrance in my house without me knowing about it, that is for sure.

I bet ! A few definitions: 1. Watch dog=25lbs and under, they make a lot of noise, even if it's a duck flying over your house and farting. 2. Guard dog= Pit, Rottie, Dobie, German Shepard, dogs that can and will put their lives in danger to defend your family. Downside to #1, you have to hear a lot of unnecessary noise, 2. You have to feel bad if they actually get killed defending you & yours. Either way, Dogs = Man's Best Friend
