Fox news played this clip this morning. Said one of the drivers is a prosecutor who handles among other things putting down people for reckless driving. I lol'd at the irony. Guess what he's wanted for now.

Well, yes they are stupid but who in this thread has not street raced before. While I have never crashed before I must have over 100 street races under my belt. I think the guy on the right may have lost control when he grabbed a gear with one hand and could not steer with the other. It may have been a kid, who knows. I just wish the other guy had kept recording. After this event I must quote a famous entertainer, By saying; Lucy, you got some splanin' to do. I wonder if that was his fathers car ?

My understanding is that it was damp out. Mixed with the slight turn there and lack of skill....you end up with this video.
I have also driven on slicks and skinnies in the rain. If I punched it from any safe speed it would break loose. If I was going 75MPH I would qualify as a complete fucking retard. Hell....even just 50MPH on slicks is asking for trouble.
I hear the C5 had DR's....which makes the driver a bit of a fool for racing if it was damp.

Hmm pedestrian traffic during the day time with people out and about. I'm not casting a stone saying I've never street raced since that would make my nose longer than Pinichio's ever got. Its just the conditions the fact they weren't that far behind traffic etc that make them deserving of the dumbasses of the year title. Small dick title that just comes with owning a vette and no driving skill I think the video is self explanitory

I agree 100%. You do not street race in a situation like that, it looked like a quiet neighborhood, people around and it was daylight. Not good. Now that I am older I go to the track for test and tune night but it the situation comes up I will use common sense and not run unless I have a good straight back road with nobody around. I also helps if it is at night. Well, at least nobody got hurt except some pride.

the roads were not wet...didnt rain here until saturday..that was thursday...seems that c5 guy wanted to let c6 guy know that even though his car was older, it could still roll out...messed up, grabbed gear at wrong time and there is your result....

THE WOODLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- Two drivers have been charged with felonies, accused of street racing before being involved in a crash in The Woodlands.
Another driver recorded the two Corvettes as they sped off on The Woodlands Parkway near FM 2978 on Thanksgiving morning. In slow motion, you can see the Corvette on the right loses control and smashes into the Corvette on the left sending it deep into the woods.
It was originally thought to be just an accident, but after reviewing the video, both drivers have now been charged with a third degree felony of racing on highway causing bodily injury.
Witnesses said they saw the two Corvettes revving their engines while waiting for a light to turn green, then driving recklessly and speeding in and out of traffic.
Warrants are out for the arrests of Brian Herbert, who was driving with a suspended license at the time, and Roy Bowden. Police say they both denied racing.
I wonder if this is the Roy Bowden Global Mfg Mgr at Halliburton??Last edited by Z28Thunder; 11-30-2011 at 10:07 PM.
