i vote ws6 the exterior is 10x better than the GTO IMO and the 2004 gto is too plain... just get the ws6 and mod the interior... seems like a no brainer to me... not to mention chicks will dig the Ws6 way more than the GTO they will think the 04 gto is like a G6 or something lol

The Goat's exterior is pretty plain but it's interior is a whole lot better than the F-Body's. As for performance, my GTO will smoke my WS-6 in a straight line but I love them both! Let the begin!

Care to elaborate on your mods and what is meant by "smoke"? By how much? What et did they both run for you in stock trim. I assume also that this is an LS2 goat?

The LS1 will keep up with the WS6 "if" the driver can drive. 3.42 gears and a better tranny, the IRS sucks but if you can get away without wheel hop you will do just fine. There are stock LS1 GTOs hitting 13.0-13.3 on a regular basis. Dont think so? Check LS1GTO.com and see for yourself. Also there are stock LS2 GTOs running 12.8-ish. Depends on the driver mostly.

As for interior the GTO is CLEARLY the winner. Not even a match there.

Here you go ... my 03 Grand Am and 04 GTO. The lines of these two cars aren't even close. In fact I think the Grand Am is closer to a G8.

06 has a few things. NON functional hood scoops, different tail lights (ricer looking black ones), the doulbe exit rear (both have duel exhausts 04s just exit out one side), the 06 has a door lock button, and the LS2. The brakes on the LS2 cars are pretty much just C5 brake rotors and pads....but they will bolt over to the LS1 cars.

The 18s I think were an option in 05 and 06. Oh and just to say, the 18s dont lay down as fat a contact patch as the 17s.

QUite a bit nicer? Dont think so........very few differences. One thing is the LS2 is drive by wire and LS1s are not. Some prefer one over the other.
that's subjective....I had an 04 up until last week and my brother has an 06. His 06 is quite a bit nicer than my 04 was when you tally everything up. That's why people with 04's pay stupid amounts of money for rear tails, hoods, rear fascia, and stock 18's to make them look like stock 06's.

you asked this in the ws6 area, so pretty much going to get all ws6 answers
same price and miles you would be dumb to buy an 02 ws6 over a 04+ gto

In My 06 with 160 T stat ported TB intake and Formato tune I was running 12.5's consistently with DR's. Not bad for only 800$ in mods. They can be made very fast easily and the ride quality compared to the Trans Am is no contest.

First do ALL the checks on the GTO .. they are great DD , LS2s are the better cars , but GTO is much easier to deal with everyday ...

Back when I was looking for a car to replace my previous car, I looked at WS-6s and Camaro SSs. Couldn't find any in the area, or with ASR. I work on cars and I have sat in F-Bodies and to me they made me feel like I couldn't find where the hood ended. I test drove an 04 GTO back in 05 as the 04 was a lease return. When I was a kid, a friend of my father had a red 84 T/A and we cruised around Ridgewood in it. Was a cool car. Two years ago I found my current car with SAP grilles(wanted to put those in, but already were installed) and found other goodies as well that were installed my the previous owner. I am happy with my 04. Only thing I have done to it were the staggered 18s, VX tails, and carbon spoiler. IMO I love when folks think it's a G6...til the key is turned. But when I pay it off, I may look for a 35th SS or a Firehawk Formy or T/A as a second car. Who knows? Antother reason I love the GTO is it feels smaller IMO.

My only issue is the rear. I guess ya have to go beyond a Harrop cover to keep the rear safe. This is my next area of improvement.

extreme dimensions, driveshaft shop, harrop, hid(35watt/6k) lows, hurst, k&n, led fogs, maverick man, mishimoto, nitto, revshift, slp, stern st-1, smoked sidemarkers, whiteline poly radius rod bushings

I bought an 04 gto new..Traded it off for a truck...Now i have a 2002 ws6. Love both. GTO rides and corners better than ws6. But doesnt have the look of T/A.. Get alot of compliments on both though. Keep your T/A and buy Goat. Just my opinion.

Yes it is a LS2 GTO. I guess "smoke" isn't really a fair choice of words. I traded a slightly modded(Lid, K&N, MAF, T/B, SLP Y-pipe, hand held tune) 2000 T/A for my GTO. When my Goat was stock, it felt seat of the pants faster than my T/A. Now it has Kooks LT's, Corsa Touring Cat back and has been tuned. My best run with all of the wheel hop, crappy 18" stock tires, untuned and my fat 270 pound ass (I need a driver mod!) was 13.46 at 106.8. Don't know what my WS-6 will do, I just bought it in the summer of 2009 and haven't even put 700 miles on it yet. I would like to keep the mileage low, it just went over 26K. I am sure the WS-6 could be faster than the GTO but for now my money is going into the Goat. I have about 3K worth of parts waiting to be put on the GTO but need some nice weather here in VA to complete my mods.
