The Last pic is before I tucked it up more, the top is after... before I used to hit everything, small dips in the road, speed bumps, but now I don't. I'm not sure the exact clearance but I haven't hit anything since then.

Yes it does! I have a cut out on mine and the noise is very loud. I don't mind it personally but everybody that rides with me complains about it.

When I had my tips cut off I had them cut right after the bend of the pipe(from the muffler)that points to the rear of the car. It made it a little louder, but ALOT, and I mean ALOT more drone. It was annoying and in the upper RPMs sounded like shit so I had new tips put on before I eventully just said to hell with the muffler and dumped my exhaust before the rear axle.

To answer part of your question, yes an RS is a v6 in the 4th Gen. Camaros.
