Definitely....marrying without a prenup is like dying without a will as far as the state's concerned.

A good lawyer is gonna find ways to get around that, although it does make it a lot tougher on the person who signed it.

After one divorce and a ex girlfriend who I have to evict to get out of my house (now she is in the mental health section for an attempted suicide on Thursday) I think marriage is like playing russian roulette

I'd like to say something about the theory that people get a divorce because "they just dont work at it anymore". Well, theres a lot of toxic relationships that people have and they DO work at it, for too long if anything. I'm sure everybody on here either knows a man or woman or themselves that have gone back to a spouse/bf/gf one too many times, tryin to make it work when it just wasnt the right thing to do. Its not like the people that get divorced wanted it to end that way or are having a grand ol time getting divorced. Getting divorced is a serious pain in the ass when a couple has children and shared assets. So making it work, who is that benefiting? 2 people that are unhappy with each other and in themselves or societies old fashioned standards that marriage is always forever? Maybe in TV land thats the case. But its 2009.

I agree completely. I do not think a couple should stay together if they're not in love anymore. I've been there, I know how it feels. My marriage did not end with an once of negativity. We simply grew apart and stopped living as husband and wife and she was ready to move on with her life. I know of several people who live this way and choose to stay in it regardless and I simply don't understand why. They're pushing happiness to the side and everyone deserves to be happy in their lives.

And to add, I think that website is a total crock, filled with people who are bent on hatred because of their unhappiness.

I was with my first serious gf 5 years and my second 11 years and never got married. I don't think I ever will. In fact- I don't think I will ever get serious with another-especially the whole living together deal.

I learned alot on the second breakup- she turned on me faster than a rabied dog. It was amazing.

This reminds me of when I used to work at a mall years ago and I used to hear women ask their friends if they would marry for love or money. Man I used to get chills down my spine hearing all the "money" responses. I would go on my way telling myself how happy I was to never fall for any B.S. I swore to myself I would marry for love. To me, love should outweigh money. I mean, come on, I don't wanna be considered a "pimp". If someone labeled me a word like that, I think I would die.

Don't get me wrong guy's if you have tried and done what you can or have gone as far as your prepared to go then so be it. I'm just saying I know alot of people that don't try either. Drop of a hat and they are done. Hell one of my good friends got married when they were fighting all the time dating, another thing to consider if you can't stand each other before hand, why tie that knot, your making it tough on both of you. Every one has there own opinion and I can respect that, it just seems some people either drop out too easy or, don't really think before they do it. Hell who am I to talk, I waited this long and you watch if and when I do get married i'll be divorced in 2 years!!!!ha ha

In a perfect world, people would get married for love.

Above aside, why is it humans are supposed to mate up to a single partner?
Think about how many creatures on this earth actually pair up for life, the percentage is very very small.
Why be tied down to just one when you can have many?

Usually nowadays, the rule is what we've all been posting, sad but true. BUT it is good to know that atleast one person isnt jaded, and is willing to give someone a chance... i just hope you dont get screwed over like a lot of other guys who thought like you once have... because now those guys think like us.
I saw that movie and it was kinda eye opening for me about many things.

I rented it after you mentioned it just to try to understand what you were saying. Guess i'm a little different cause I have always thought like this. Alot of friends I know think like the movie, no big deal, everybody has their opinion. I'll be the exception , I can handle that. Believe me I have been burned many times, going through it right now. I still have hope though.
