Cool, maybe you can integrate the VTEC that you threw in the trash and rev out to 15000rpms. Then you'd have a super JDM LS1 you can be proud of. Make sure you put Apexi N1 mufflers in place of the true dual exits. It will give an extra 30whp.

modern science has figured out that if you have 7.4 liters, a bigger cam, 770 holley (headers now too) and a 150 shot you'll have 550 hp out of the junkyard

Now the number is magically 470WHP?? WTF?
As i said 470whp on a dynojet and 420ishwhp on mustang, jsut like guys who say there stock ws6 puts out 330-350whp, because they are on a dynojet.

Ive never seen or heard of any stock WS6's putting down 330-350whp on a any Dynojet. C5 Z06's are putting down 345-365rwhp on Dynojets bone stock.

I saw a WS6 several years ago on a dyno day put down 330 RWHP on a dynapack at haddadmotorsports. It was bone stock, i still remeber the color silver. Like i said this was several years ago but im sure Mike at Haddad can comfirm some numbers with LS1 cars. Now if it was on a mustang dyno then ofcourse the results wouldve been much different.

I said Dynojet. Sure, Dynapacks can be the highest reading dynos out there so I am not suprised to hear that.

Amazing the hate for the GTR here....

Would completely cook damn near ANY F-Body on a road course, and most in a straight line.
Granted, it should for what they ask for them, but still....hate for a car that would kill yours???

My problem with the car is just the mystique of the "skyline" and the ricer community's new claim to a fast car, thats all. I don't like the way it looks either, but I also don't really like the new Camaro's, Challengers, and especially the 10' Stang (god that thing is horrendous). Too bulky IMHO, but that's just me. I'd prefer a Z06 for that much money...

I agree with damn near all of that.

I don't like the 'retro' look to any of the new pony cars. I don't care for the look of the GTR either.
    But the damn thing performs....

Its true, almost all the mag testers say it handles better than any street car they have ever test driven. Some of them saying in race mode it out handles the 911 turbo by a noticable amount and in street mode is still more comfy. It beats the z06 around the ring yet weighs 600lbs more and makes 25 less hp. It maybe be ugly (IMO) but you cant say it doesnt perform.

The GTR is an overpriced, 4,000lb pig of a car. Its only fast around a road course because of all its electronic nannies and AWD. Its not even that fast for the price, you could outrun one in a $45K GT500. Not to mention they can't keep transmissions in GTRs, if you use launch control, it blows the trans, and its NOT covered under warranty. So it costs the owner around $20K to replace.

The Corvette is just a much better car, especially the Z06. Its a much more pure sports car - lighter by hundreds of pounds, RWD, 6 speed manual, V8, and it looks great. The GTR looks like a 370Z got raped by a gorilla and had offspring.

I agree with the fact that it performs. But, and this is just from everything i've READ, it also falls apart. And does so under stock power. Mainly the launch control. I could just really find better things to do with 80-90k than buy something I'd quickly break.

You cant outrun a gtr with a gt500 in straight line or around a track.

Funny considering the GT500 weighs the same as the GTR yet puts down about 80WHP more.

GT500 is faster in a straight line than the GTR.

    from motortrend

Turns out, you can still be a superhero in the GT-R simply by mashing the throttle; 60 mph arrives in 3.9-sec., the 1/4-mile in 12.2-sec. at 119.2 miles per hour.
Thats WITHOUT launch control. 07 and 08 GT500's were only doing it in 12.60 to 12.70 in stock trim (that I've found). This is the best I could find. If you can find something else Wesman, please point me towards it. Thanks.

People with GTRs have hit 120mph trap speeds. I have yet to see a gt500 trap 120mph. And as far as ET, people have gone mid 11s in GTRs, noone can even go low 12s with a gt500.
