New Camaro SS at track last night

Last night went to the local test and tune and was setting in line. I look to my right and what do I see a red SS sitting in tech. After I made my run I went to the stands to watch him. He bogged the hell out of his launch and ran 13.8 @ 105. He get's back in line and go's again well he launches a hell of a lot better and ran a 13.5 @ 109 but he f up his rear end and had to be hauled off on a roll back. The damn car did not even have plates on it yet. I wonder if this is happening a lot.

To the OP so we can understand this a little better, did the car "break" during the 13.50 pass? And if so could you tell at what point during the pass it broke?

If the camaro in question broke something bad enough coming off the line, "launching", that he had to be towed afterwards, its hard to imagine him running 13.50's broke.

just saw my first this morning a red ss.

the local dealership has 6 on order 5 of which are sold 3 ss and 2 rs.
i need to hurry up and get my procharger installed i'd hate to have a rs hang w/ me or worse!

He broke at some point in the second pass I don't know when. I would have to guess that it was a haft shaft or something I don't really know. I did not get a chance to talk to the guy if I see him this wed at the track i will try to find out what broke.

I'm thinking you don't exactly go straight to the track. I think it is likely the guy drove it a few days at least. And from his runs...I'd say he had likely logged many, many bad launches.

If you suck bad enough, and are stupid enough, long enough and repeatedly enough...you can break anything!

It is hard to tell how many bad and monstrous clutch drops that car took before it crapped!
