In 6th gear it would still go close to 250MPH.

    Top of 4th gear for me is 124MPH though....on a 26" tire.
    131MPH on a 27" tire and 136MPH on a 28" tire.
    I have 4.11's.

    Yes they do.

These numbers are for the stock redline (6200) and 26" tires.
3.42 gears the Very top of 6th gear would be 277MPH at 6200 RPM's.
4.10 gears the very top of 6th gear would be 231MPH at 6200 RPM's.
3.42 gears the very top of 4th gear would be 138MPH at 6200 RPM's.
4.10 gears the very top of 4th gear would be 115MPH at 6200 RPM's.

Of course...that is if you could ever get to those speeds in 6th. Which you won't.

With an automatic I'm sure it's a different story. I had 4:11s in my Cuda and anything over 60 mph on the highway was painful.

I read somewhere the 03'/04' Cobra would do over 170 with the limiter disabled... Not my idea of fun in a car with it's high-speed handling characteristics. One of my cop friends totaled his when he lost control in a high speed turn. The insurance replaced the car with a new one, and month later he wrecked it the same way.
There is a funny article about the 03 Cobra in Motortrend. They said at 157 mph they were pulling hard enough that when the limiter did kick in they were almost thrown into the dash. Ive only had mine to about 160 but it seemed fine to me. Your buddy cant drive.

Yeah, I read that article and as I remember they didn't quite say thrown into the dash, but something more like they lurched forward when the limiter kicked in.
The new Mustangs handle better due to the longer wheel base, but the old ones were famous for spinning out. Another friend slid into a curb at high speed and busted the rear end. I can't remember any other car being so famous for spin outs.

Im not as anal as it will look since just a few days ago I read that old article.
    Motortrend June 2003 pg. 100.

"The Mustangs ample power, weight and shape would've allowed the supercharged V-8 to go much faster. Bell said he was thrown forward in his seat when the mean nanny took away his gas pedal at 159mph. But getting there was no problem."

Damn, I used to remember stuff well but at 32 what do you expect.

Its a 2003 article so there was no F-body tested but the Z06 went 174 FYI.

I want a 2007 Z06 so bad I can hardly stand it. Maybe 2 or 3 years from now if all goes as planned.

Me too, I just went to my local dealer and they had 3 new ones. 1 2006 and 2 2007's. They are not selling well at all in S. FL. I hope the LS3 will help bring down the prices soon.

Thanks for the input folks.I-130 is a toll road here in Austin Texas. About 7:00 AM on a Sunday should be empty enough. Then again if its limited to 160s Ive been close enough at 155.

P.S its alot more stable at 155, then a Mustang is at 130.

168 MPH in my 1999 Trans Am on I-55 near my home in La. Very smoth open hwy This was read on my GPS. Great suspension and Z Rated tires. Very smooth run, I run 140 to 145 about once a week and will hold it @ 130 to 135 for about an 8 mile run in I-55 if traffic is light. Great rush. Please don't comment on the sence of this action. I know it's not the most intelligent thing to do but why have a car that will run fast and then drive it 60 MPH every where. Just go and get a Isuzu truck if you want to go slow.

Just make sure your tires are up to the task. I had a 440 Mopar up to 175 once, and my buddies Hayabusa up to 190. Even had my wife up to 165 on a ZX11. So far I've only had the TA up to 120, but plan to see what top speed is eventually.
