Lets put it this way the 4l60e is only rated to 380ft lbs of torque a stock ls1 is either making or very close to making that stock because they are rated at 360tq. Now throw on some bolt ons and youve well exceeded the limit however people usually dont have issues unless theyre beating the crap out of one. the trannys are really a crap shoot some go on stock power others take 450rwhp abuse and still go...

I wasn't stock on those runs, i had the 221x221 561. life cam, ls6 heads, headers and 3.73 gears. Car should have ran faster if I cut a good 60' then the 12.6 run, but it was only 1 pass that I got to make on that set up. Car will get a moser 9" and be really nasty on launches. Should hit very low 12's possibly high 11's with my new set up and 3.70ish gears in a 9" rear end when I get it.
with out headers and no drag radials on my old cam and ls6 heads I hit the best of a 13.10 @ 110.7mph with a 2.1 to 2.2 60 foot. so it was already an easy 12 sec car to begin with.
