I didnt realize it was that huge and difficult of a job to change the rear main seal. You guys havnt lived until you have changed one in a flathead ford, the seal is a 2 piece rope the size of your thumb. What kind of alingment tools are required. I think ford or someone used a silmilar rear main like ours but they used the face of the seal for contact on a surface so alignment was not an issue.

I was looking at the 1998 factory repair manual online and it doesnt show any special procedure for the rear main. Section 6-432

I would have to dig out my manuals -- going from memory, the tool indexes over the back of the crank and has fingers that center the rear cover.
