Just woke the Monte up from its winter slumber. Will be heading out for an afternoon cruise at some point.

We headed east on 522 towards Middleburg and then dropped off onto some back roads. We ended up at a boat launch on the Susquehanna where we enjoyed the sights before rolling home. Probably a 40 plus mile shakedown cruise for the Monte.

no more.....no more tile.....it's even in my dreams.
I have 2 more rooms left. Office and Laundry room. Took all weekend to get the kitchen, dinning room and foyer to tie in correctly. What a huge PITA. On top of that I have to cut out a tile in the middle of the kitchen because it broke when we moved the refrigerator back in position. Talk about pissing me off.

Having a survey done on my property (I'm not doing it myself because conflict of interest), and it's looking like I'm going to be dealing with title insurance...
I have always been of the opinion that mortgage inspection reports in lieu of a real boundary survey was stupid and lazy, and now I'm seeing a good example why.
Mortgage inspection shows my house nice and centered on the property, perfectly parallel with my west line....reality shows half of my house and shop sitting off my property into an abandoned railroad right-of-way, and on top of that my west property line (where I planned to build my fence) is well into land my neighbor thought was his. This is going to be a fun lesson.

Small town, too many land transactions without proper surveying, land owners putting up fences wherever they feel like, then the next land owner thinks that's the property line, etc etc.
The survey crew doing my work had to go across the street and 2-3 blocks in either direction just to find property pins to tie everything in.

sounds like ppl removing the pins.
Does that mean you owe more taxes?

That's always a possibility. Who knows what kind of boundary disputes have happened with previous owners over the years, and I've seen it happen to pins I put in the ground myself as a surveyor.
In the end I will probably end up paying slightly more in property taxes, if only because the end result will be the title company getting me a quiet title for my half of the abandoned right-of-way, leading to more acreage. That will be the least of my worries, as our taxes aren't too bad here anyway. I think I pay $1,500 a year on this house.

They won't unless you pay for a true boundary survey when you make the house purchase, and if they did it would be clearly marked with iron pin, marked stake and flagging. Most people don't want to pay the extra on top of everything else, but my totally biased opinion as a surveyor is that it's THE most important thing to have done.

The more I think I'm pretty sure part of my driveway and the back garage are an encroachment possibility
