Snow's gone off pool cover! I can't stand the waiting..We open our pool (20x40ft about mid May. We heat our pool by Solar tubing on flat roof of a large shop/pool house. We open much earlier than most folks up here because of that. As long as it's sunny(doesn't have to be hot) our pool will heat in a matter of days. We keep solar blanket on it when ever not in use, especially at nite. I have actually had to turn solar power off in summer when pool hits 90 and just run through filter.

We use Enersol Solar pool heating system and we love it. We have a flat roof building right behind the pool where the solar panels lay. The shops roof is 700 sq. ft. We have about 30+ boxes up there. Our pool is 20x40ft with a 9ft deep end. The initial expense was about 5 grand but living up here our season is short it enables us to swim in 85 degree water within 2 weeks of opening the pool, usually 2nd-3rd week in May. We have a gas heater also that we have used in October to extend the season. That runs us about 400$ for the month! Here is a website of a place we deal with up here.
