No budget, just looking for something decent for a reasonable price.
I just redid the whole basement with surround sound, u name it, just need some beats for the living room now at a lower price because of how much I spent in the last couple months building the basement.
Gonna go to best buy this weekend and see what they have to listen to.
Have you had a Denon 391?

nah i have not....i always been a onkyo man, much more bang for the buck than any highend brand..............any reciever you get with at least a 100watts a channel should be fine....two run the pioneers....what audio setup did you use in the basement?
I'm curios..........

Had to finally upload them, haven't gotten around to taken any new ones. Still isn't done yet.
Starting to tear up the carpet, but decided to keep it. Day1 basically.
Dimmer switch power.
Pile of most of my parts that arrived.
Friend installed some cans for me. Replaced rotted dry wall.
No room behind the dry wall, so this is how the speaker wire had to be ran. Idiots that designed these houses. Want to strangle them.
Finishing up mudding.
More drywall work, speaker wire runs.
Wiring everything up.
My couch.

A lot more in-between photos, but I'm lazy and it's boring anyways. I'll upload those later, more wiring and equipment hook up photos etc. etc. Some of those were taken with the cell phone etc. Sorry.
I went to best buy today to audition speakers. The Pioneers took way to much power to get running, the Polk is300? not really impressed. Still not sure what to do.

Damn you're going all out there allbaugh. That's gotta be bad ass. No wonder you didn't have anything to say about my setup other than the newspaper clips

Well I don't want to be rude, if that's what works for you, then that's fine by me. We all got different priorities in life. Me? I have none.
It's like when I converse with corvette owners etc., they are nice enough not to diss me...Last edited by allbaugh_04; 05-14-2012 at 10:54 AM.

I think the Polk 60's would sound pretty decent. I only have a 100w X 7 pushing my set-up. Like anything though, I'd recommend finding them in-store if they are set-up somewhere and listening to them first-hand.
I'm not too into home audio. Car audio was my thing back in my younger days.Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Well.............If you throw out a budget I can suggest speakers man. simple as that.............example the kef IQ70's are the best floorstanding speakers under $1000............the salk songtowers might be the best under 2k...but again i don't know ur budget....but you may want to get more powerful electronics and get the pioneers, stereophile who only reviews usually highend speakers.. were comparing these to the psb and wharledale entry level offering's and those are very highend speakers.....It also depends on what type of sound your looking for bright big dynamic sound......go with klipsch .............laid back warm sound........kef, pioneer, psb would be good..........more neutral all around sound....... aperion, salk, venna, acoustics, martin, logan would fit the bill...
