We think they got hacked b/c there was about $500 in purchase made unbeknownced to her.

My husbands card has never been used on the Internet. Ever. Yet, it was his card that someone used to start a website and buy a bunch of video games with...

I on the other hand do about 80% of my shopping online and have never had my cards compromised.

It's the people you hand your card to that you need to worry about most IMO. It only takes seconds to jot down info or, get a card read

Been lucky so far here -- had a friend get zapped after using his card at National Trail Drag Strip in Ohio to purchase a pic of his car coming off the line. It was the first and only time he had used his card and about a month later there were charges on the account that he had not made. Like F-SANE, he was justifiably pissed but was able to get the charges reversed.

Just spoke to the bank and once again they told me to call the computer place.

Spoke to Brian there again and he said that he placed the refund on Sunday right after we spoke which is true. I saw it on my statement. He suggested that its the banks transactions that cleared it.

Called the bank back and they said its a possibility and I should wait another day or two.
