this is a 2002 Camaro with 3.8V6 and 600.000 miles
El Pasoan visits Rudolph Chevrolet with his 600,000+ miles Chevy Camaro « Rudolph Chevrolet
On an other forum: Camarov6.com (or firebirdv6.com) there are several guys with also more than 300.000 miles with orginal 3.4 and 3.8 engines
These engines have proven to be very reliable

I am guessing those cars have also had a lot of work done to them to make them last that long. A lot of engines can go those kind of miles if they are rebuilt numerous times.
My 3.8 motor was untouched other than oil changes and a water pump replacement.Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

the guy with the 600.000 miles Camaro was not rebuild (so he told on his story), and so are several guys on Camarov6.com, but i agree correct maintenance is the key to succes.
and so far i know, has this engine one bad spot, and that is the bad gaskets of the intake manifold.

I agree, and you are spot on with the intake gasket. That was what was wrong with mine when I sold it with 209,XXX miles on it. Was replaced and ran like a top again. Stout motors indeed.

BLK/BLK w/CGM Stripes- 2010 Camaro 2SS/M6
I have none right now but hopefully soon
Currently have a '11 Legacy for the wife and a '99 Outback that I got for $500 that was my small project after selling the T/A .. replaced the engine/etc. and is kept around as a runaround/grocery getter until I can afford to buy another toy. Have a truck from work, so it's not like I'm short of cars, lol

Yeah those 3.8s go forever. Basic maintenance will do that. Just fix the usual wear areas like the waterpump, intake leaks, but the base engine is a high mileage potential unit.
Our fleet is the WS6, a '68 Le Mans drop top, wife has a '94 Cherokee (210k and runs great, 4.0 engine) and I just murdered out my winter beater ('90 Cavalier Z24) with some 10 spoke 16'' chrome '04 Cavalier wheels. Makes me want to clean/wash the exterior for the first time in 2.5 years. I had to upgrade the wheels bc nobody makes any decent tires in the OE 215/60/14 size, so now I'm rollin on some 205/55/16 Potenza 970 AS Pole Positions. Love those tires!

I have an 09 Pontiac G8 GT with the 6.0 litre L76. Plan is to swap in an LS9 cam with all the necessary valvetrain components. I wanna see what I can do power-wise with stock GM parts.
