falling like rain down here shady. the one i picked up was damaged. it is the donor spoiler so i can patch the holes with the same material that the spoiler is made up of (FRP)...

update: holes are patched and the spoiler has a coat of primer on it. will post up pics and try to get the spoiler on the car with pics to follow as well. also patched up the OEM ram air hood too!!!

looks sweet as hell with the center supports removed and is very sturdy as well!!!

I'm really surprised by this...this was my main concern with doing this, but if you say it's sturdy then I believe you...can't wait for pics

I'll say quickly that we patched using the same material the spoiler is, then fiberglass, bondoed where we needed to fill low spots, then a poly coate bondo, then to sandable primer and then shot the spoiler with primer.

I have pics on the iPhone showng this and will post those up. Getting ready to put the spoiler on the car in a test fit. There will be the mounting bumps in the hatch itself that will be seen. I have not done any work to the hatch at this time

    thanks Shady!

took sometime to do, but im happy with the outcome. i love the cantilever look of the spolier from the side (3rd pic). toyed with painting it black and slapping it on the car, but then i would have to do the priming and sanding process all over again once i chose a paint color.

how you been, what have you been up too?

I had my doubts about the idea at first, but that is some damn fine work! Can't wait for the finish!

How strong does it seem? I would hate to see it sag.

there is still the normal flexing that you get with the spoiler, but we inserted huge pieces of another TA spoiler i had to the inside underneath part. we drilled holes into them and then after expoxying we tightened them up using screws. after it dried, we used woven fiberglass strips in a criss-cross pattern to add extra strength. there is no way that we believe the spoiler will sag because of how we patched and sealed the holes.

i took some pics of the process with my iphone, so i just need to get them off my phone and up here.
