I would only worry about staying close to stock if it was my DD.
I have 2 other cars though. 1 of which has a blown motor
Just got the news yesterday that it looks like my Formie has either a cracked head or the block is cracked. I'm debating a 305 replacement or possibly an LT1 depends which I can afford
