Why a new roof panel Jeff?

We have the bubbles forming on it. The factory adhesive soaks through the panel and causes the paint to lift from underneath. On a hot sunny day we actually have streaks of fluid that run out of the bubbles. The problem was covered by a TSB until sometime in 2007.

Basically have to peel the old panel off -- breaking it off in pieces appears to be the quickest method versus trying to cut it off. After it is off, get rid of the old adhesive and attach the new panel with urethane.

Gives me an easy excuse to perform a repaint on the rear bumper and take care of some other small paint issues. Probably late fall, or over the winter, is when we'll get to it.

In other news...

Took the T/A to work yesterday and had to go file some crap at the Courthouse. After I was done, I went over to see a guy in the office next to the one I used to work at. He's a car guy, just has different tastes -- his newest acquistion is a '72 or '73 (I forget) Triumph. Anyway, we take the T/A out for a spin and ended up seeing 130 on the speedometer. Only problem was... I was in the passenger seat. Yes, he's kind of crazy.
