Sarge is right on about the moisture. Why do you think you sometimes see steam coming out your tail pipes for a while after start-up, especially in cooler weather?
If anyone is worried about moisture, then plug your tail pipes after each use. Just remember to take 'em out before your next use.

10-XX is golden down to well below 0f. I run 10-30 year round. You are gaining nothing by switching to 5w.

Sarge.. im slowly building the list of all the crap i need to get. On the hottest of hot days my oil pressure gets down to 25-30psi at idle. On the coldest of days its around 65 at idle.
what the crap does this mean... other than with 154k on the clock a lq9 is looming over my head...

Schaeffers in Oprah, eh? Good stuff, but not recognized as much as they should be... seems like they have a solid, almost cult-like following.
In your opinion, where does Schaeffers rate compared to Amsoil S2000, Penzoil Platinum & VP Racing?

Well different motors will produce various "best" oils. Shaeffers has returned the best UOA's and performance out of all you mention above in my specific motor/setup/tune/mods/

Right on. It's interesting how the "best" is not universal; it all depends on each specific application/motor/mods/tune, etc. To me, that's part of the fun--finding the "best" for each specific application of anything. In my 'tinkering' hobby with internal combustion engines throughout my years, I've tried quite a few various oil 'recipes' when time permits, but I'm sure it's only a small fraction compared to your testing experience. So, that's why I continue to ask your opinion on these things.
By the way, how often do you do UOA? Every oil change? Same for all your vehicles, or more often with Oprah?
Thanks in advance.

Hey if it is working for you fine...this thread is more about learning what to do/learn to find out if your getting your monies worth out of your oil, protecting your motor...not necessarily what is the best oil.....Mobil1 is good oil....overpriced for what it is....middle of the road UOA's....nothing spectacular...but good....

Change of oil brands/conventional to synthetic/synthetic to conventional at any time regardless of past uses or mileage causes no negatives at all.
UOA's reflect the "best" LSX motor wear/performance comes from Pennzoil Platinum or Amsoil. We stay on top of things so if that changes ( and it will) then we'll know and post up the data reflecting the changes.

Well many would debate with you on your comments about Mobil1 and RP being PAO.
My comments have nothing to do with PAO versus Conventional cracked base stock but with VI's.
