86 Buick GNx - Black- 08 Jeep GC SRT8 - SBM
Makes me miss my 30th badly. I almost bought another one a few weeks ago but decided on a Turbo Buick instead.
There are some good priced 30th T/As out there, but you won't find 3-digit odometer readings on them. Which for me personally, that's fine. I would rather get a car that's been driven at least a little bit.
As far as duplicating or cloning a 30th, the parts to do so may cost you more than just buying one outright. I could be wrong, though. I haven't priced stuff for these cars in a couple of years.

Whats the differences other than the blue anodised wheels and stripes? Probably get the stock rims done at a decent price or get lucky and find some used ones. Stripes would mainly cost labor and a little paint, cheaper if you do it yourself. The badges would be harder to find but Third Shift can make some custom ones for a couple hundred. Just cant make them exact and put a real number on them. The WS6 all ready had the power steering cooler and Ram Air as well as the WS6 suspension. Engine is basically the same. How much do used 30th aniv rims go for(or similar aftermakets)?

If im going to go for the look of the 30th then I want the real thing. Personally I cant stand owning a clone, I want the real thing.

Oh yeah, forgot about the white leather, that would be hard to find. Still wouldnt cost 30 grand. Can get a good WS6 and spend less than 20 for everything. Whats the big deal about a clone? Its no different mechanically, not like youre making a fake Hemi Cuda out of a staight six car. Its just cosmetic stuff that has no affect on performance at all. I wouldnt mind driving or making a clone, but wouldnt try to pass it off as the real thing if I sold it.

I personally don't mind a clone if done right. Just as you said, don't try to pass it off as something it isn't, then it's all cool. I won't ever try to pass my car off as a legit, numbered Buick GNX. But at first glance, you can't tell much of a difference. When I'm done with it, you will think it's a modded GNX without badges of any kind. But if anyone asks, I'll tell them it's an '86 Grand National.

Those blue anodized rims arent cheap either. i dont know how much they cost from the dealer, but i was talking to someone at a car show whose friend bought a set from someone who had a 30th, and he spent $4,000 on just the rims from this guy.
