Well if they DO make a Z28 it needs more than 420HP with that extra weight. Maybe more like 450-470. Or hell just throw the Z06 engine in there.

wheres the sleekness? wheres the sex appeal? the 4th gen fbody was an up to 2nd gen (which was owned by the Trans Am) As time went on, improvements were made, not only yo styling, but to handling, and to top it off NO T TOP OPTION!?!? NO Z28? I'm sorry, but the camaro has become what Ive always feared it would. An Impala, a Monte Carlo, a Nova, a Malibu...the Camaro has become an eye sore to those who know what it these names used to mean. LT, LS, SS....that sad. Id rather get a G8. I'm literally building my car with all intentions of destroying the 5th gen....
I leave you with this thought. Any Chevy can be a SS, only a Camaro can be a Z28

and on a nother note, i live in Los Angeles, where the camaro has become the punch line of an ethnic joke and it angers me the these "cars" promote ridiculously large and tasteless wheel. I mean come on, 20''+ stock? smh

I like it, i think the right paint/wheel/exhaust package could set it off alot more though.

I liked the TransAm concept better. It looked meaner in the front

Aside from the heavy weight, i'm not sold yet on the looks. I guess I should wait until I see one in person to make the final judgement.

I'm considering saving up and getting one... I'd have to sell my current SS to my dad. What do you guys think a base SS would cost?

well, dude, unless you have a down payment, i doubt you can get one right off, but a year later...you might be able to pick one up with 0 down and 0 financing for the first several months. anyways, second year models are always better than the first year models. by then, they work out the kinks and add more features.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Well the local Camaro club (Arizona Camaros) had our monthly meeting at the Chevy dealership that sponsors us. Among other announcements, we were afforded the opportunity to put a (refundable) $500 deposit on a new Camaro. Price will be MSRP with no dealer markup as they want to be a volume dealer. They anticipate getting 40 or 50 cars initially for the mid-year (they said around April) introduction. I will have to wait til 9-09 as the vert won't be available til then but I'm 1st on their list for one. Price for a loaded SS vert is ~ $40K.
FWIW, I'm keeping the 2002 as my semi-race car.Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 08-31-2008 at 09:48 PM.
