How much caffeine do you drink everyday? And whats the latest you drink it/consume caffeine? I know that a cup of coffee feels like it wears off in an hour or two, but the effects of caffeine can last up to eight hours. I won't drink soda or caffienated beverages after 2 pm or so. It made a difference for me when i couldn't sleep.

Not a lot. Actually I RARLEY drink coke/pepsi. I dont drink coffee either. I dont know why, but i can only sleep at like 1230-1 every night. I am usually on AIM or watching tv/movies. It doesnt seem to have any effects. Its just that sometimes when im not doing something, I get so sleepy i go into my room and shut the door. I usually sleep for like and hour or two. Then I am up ALL night watching tv.

do you workout at all? Exersize expells excess energy and can help you sleep. Just make sure you work out two or three hours before you want to go to sleep to help your body calm down. Heavy weight lifting will help you sleep better than running/aerobic workouts.
There is a over the counter sleep aid called Simply Sleep. It's the same thing as tylenol pm but without the pain killer in it. I couldn't sleep for a while there and i tried that. I took two or three of them about an hour before i wanted to go to bed, then just watched tv and relaxed. Went and layed down and fell asleep after a short while. I don't think it's that expensive either. I only used it for like a week then i got into a decent trend of being able to sleep. If that doesn't work try Jack Daniels like the others said. 4 shots then lay down, it will konk you out. Not a big drinker? Smoke a joint.

Start gearing down earlier. You kinda have to treat it like a baby/kid when you put them to sleep. Dim the lights, turn down/off the TV. Eat earlier, don't drink alcohol.
You might want to get checked out by a doctor though. It could be anything from a testosterol problem (lack of), or any number of factors (stress, lack of exercise, bad dietary habits, high blood pressure, etc).
Ambien works wonders, and has no side effects. Somebody linked melatonin.com. You can buy melatonin tablets OTC, and they work as well. Back when I had an unbelievably screwed up schedule as a result of work, I took them, and still swear by them.

My friends dad accidentally took two of his wifes ambiens right, were playing madden on ps2 and the next thing we see is his dad coming down the steps with NOTHING on except on of those black leather belts that has the Steel square/diamond rivets in it, while he is eating a cup of yogurt, dancing
and swinging his dick around singing rocky mountain way, by joe walsh. No side effects? maybe none that you can remember cuz when we starting bustin on him the next day he had no idea what we were talking about...

I have a hard time going to sleep too. I should be in bed sleeping at 6-7pm but usually don't fall asleep till 9pm. I have to be up at 2:30am 5 hours just does't cut it for me. My problem is most days im so tired when I get home I take a nap then when its time to go to bed I can't sleep, or I'll drink caffeine all day to stay awake but then the caffeine keeps me up when I try to go to sleep. My mind just does not shut down I think about a million different things which keeps me up.
