NBM / Silver- 00 SS / 71 SS Elcamino
I am always the idiot with a SS Camaro in the slow lane doing the speed limit. I'll never need one. Been driving almost 20 years, having over 20 muscle cars, and have never been pulled over for speeding. Knock On Wood!!!
When and if I want to go fast, I have always done it at the track!! I enjoy my insurance rates right where they are at.2000 SS Camaro Heads, Large cam, Fast 90, 9"w/430's and locker, yada yada yada... you get the picture

Used to have one... it died (trapped inside a car in florida during the summer = death) and I never bought a new one.
And the jammers aren't exactly illegal.... it depends on the state.... here in wonderful car-law-free florida, they are perfectly legit! You'll still get pulled over if the cop figures out what car is doing the scrambling, and he'll be pissed, but you wont get a ticket!

Pewter Metallic- 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28
so what would be the best "affordable" radar dectector out on the market right now?? LA cops are assholes...specially when they see a young dude in a camaro!!

I used to have one.....got rid of it when:
1) I realized after my 102 in a 40 that it won't help me when I am going that fast
2) Put tooo much trust in the detector and stopped paying close attention to spot cops...cost me a ticket when he zapped me with laser out of the blue...not time to hit the brakes: 95 in a 65
Since I got rid of it---no tickets (knock on wood)

same here. its alright, but aint that great for laser---but what else is under 300???
the 9500 passport looks sweet, like the sti driver it is undetectable by radar detector detectors. That is a benifit because piggies like to flip on their radar gun. its happend many a time to me.
You just gotta be on the lookout when speeding, it takes more than just a detector to pick up cops.

A lot of the older Muscle cars were owned in the 80's early 90's when you could still pick one up rather cheaply. several of my Novas I got without engines and trannys for under $1000. I worked near a junkyard and got profiecent at transplanting motors in. I would fix it up, drive for a little while then sell it.Last edited by Jays00ss; 11-16-2007 at 07:49 AM.

passport 8500. sure its saved my ass numerous times--when used within reason. I also have a rocky mountain radar jammer right next to it, but i haven't been convinced of its effectiveness. had the detector for about 5 years or so and gotten 2 tickets with it. had the laser detect turned off and got hit with laser the last time. its time for a new one; it was giving me lots of false lasers so i turned laser off. Occassionally it flashers "calibrating' and 'service required' now. Looking into the 8500 x50, 9500, and V1. Anyone with experience with both passport and V1 wanna chime in?

im not impressed by the V1, the arrows are just somthing to up the price. My x50 isnt over sensitive, it dont go off too much extra. Id look into the 9500 passport tho, it looks really nice. wouldnt mind having the bel rx75 tho lol but thats pretty expensive.
