Go buy a copy of Spyware Sweeper and download Avast Antivirus for personal use. It's free and works very well. I doubt its hardware failure, but if it is, and your system is only a year old, something is really wrong with the quality of the parts used.

Mystic Teal- 1999 Camaro Z28 - A4
just had my 1 month old computer fixed because of all the spy ware in the background that would run as soon as i started windows. Norton takes up alot of memory usage as well, its a dog, Worthless IMO.
Made it slower than dirt, had to wait 10 mins for the internet to get going, then it'd freeze.
Get a sweeper (AVG Free, Spybot: Search and Destroy, AdAware, Avast Antivirus, etc.)like alot of people are saying and clean it up, or take it into the shop (20$ here) for a good cleaning if its going to slow for you to do it.

Spyware Sweeper is an excellent program because, not only does it clean existing spyware from your system. It also has a real time protector that runs and self updates that helps to protect your system from any future attempts to install spyware on your system.
