To be perfectly honest . . . I would have rather seen Dale Jr. go with Richard Childress Racing, rather than Hendrick's Racing. . . but none the less I hope he gets a championship under his belt with this team.

Im old school stock car fan. Those days are gone for sure. My favorite drivers are guys like Buddy Baker, Cale Yarborough, ....they worked on their own cars....unlike these pretty boys who dont even know which end of the car the engine is in.

Dale Jarrett is in the #44 Toyota Camry for Michael Waltrip Racing. And judging by this season, it was one of the worst moves of his life and I bet he's regretting it.

If Dale Earnhardt Jr ever wins a championship, the south will rise up and riot so much it will make the L.A. riots of years past look tame. And 9 months later the local hospitals will be busy with new kids named Dale.

If I could buy him for what he's really worth and sell him for what his fans think he's worth, I'd be one of the richest men on the planet.

I personally am not a fan of Dale, Jr. I think that he's overrated. People think just because his daddy was amazing that he will be just as good. As much as I hate to say this, Gordon and Johnson are two of the best. Along with my fav Tony Stewart. At least the #8 will be driven by a pretty good driver next year - Mark Martin, who is the first driver that I ever liked...

I'd love to see him win championships as he is the kind of guy that Nascar needs, and the only one that could bring that "sport" into a more respected entity. i'm glad he did what was best for him, its gotta be hard on him competing against his dad's company. i dont care what anyone says, thats Dales company. theresa is a bitch.

I agree, he is a good guy. I saw on my local news recently that he had visited a few younger people in the area with serious diseases. It was their dream to meet him and he took the time to meet with each one. He is an ok racer and will get better. I doubt he will accomplish what his dad did but it's a much different sport now compared to when sr. started racing.

True enough, but at the same time, the competition is way higher than it used to be. You just don't see people winning races by 17 laps like Richard Petty used to do, and you never will see that again.

As I've said in other threads, now we're going to see if Jr. really does have what it takes to be a champion. There just can't possibly be any more excuses, he just needs a little more luck......because every single Cup Champion has needed some of that, Sr. included. (1994)
