Collectors Edition Yellow- 2002 Pontiac Trans AM WS6
Very nice... Maybe i will look for a less wild cam...
but the TR 236/230 .602/.575 112 LSA isn't the reverse split...
Your thinking of the TR 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA which is the reverse split as you can see by the lobe seperation that it will be very choppy as a DD so thats why i was going to stay away from that 1. But the 236/230 .602/.575 112 LSA says the pickup range is from 2400-6800RPMs but does req. 4.10s (which im gettin anyway) and i'm definatly getting a massive dyno tune for that cam so i can squeeze the best possible performance out of it.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i think the cam i was looking into (236/230 .602/.575 112 LSA) will be "OK" for DD...

111 to 112 LSA isn't a huge jump.
I always thought anything with a higher intake duration than exhaust duration was a reverse split duration....someone correct me if I am wrong.
It all boils down to what you consider 'okay' for the daily driver. If you can handle a rough idle and lower mileage for your DD....go bigger.
I haven't really driven many different cammed cars....just my when it had a 226/234 554/575 112 in it. And that was about the limit I would think for a daily driver in my opinion.2008 Trailblazer SS
Yank PTB3600, Kooks 1 7/8" LT's, 4" intake, E-fans, Magnaflow, Sonnax kit, tranny cooler, tune.
Lowered, HID's, tinted.

Yea i gotch.... I just dont want the car to be going crazy at idle!! I can handle the roughness but i think with a nice tune the lope shouldn't be too bad at all neither will the idle. But we'll c i still have till the end of the year to decide and i want a nice size cam because i want the power but i dont want some crazy idling problems. But for what i can perceive as "ok" if the car doesn't shake like crazy or i can handle the gas mileage then i think i'll be fine!!

My car rocked pretty good with the 226/234 554/575 112.
Prothane motor mounts would be a decent idea as well for you to help that.

Mine wasn't tuned.
Although I think the lope and the rocking would have been close to the same either way.

I thought a tune helped balance the computer with the revs of the cam making the car less choppy?

The tune will raise the idle if necessary, correct the A/F ratio due to more air that can get in and out of the car, and advance the timing as high as it can go without detonation. A cam will be choppy no matter what, some are so bad you need higher gears to pull it from a stop since the powerband is really high otherwise the engine will bog down. you can get a better real world tune by taking the car on the road to measure and tune everything rather than the dyno, but you get HP and Torque numbers with your work when doing the tune on a dyno
