Victory Red- 2002 Corvette Z06
the weakest argument in motorsports...yeah but you have a blower or you have nos.....yes that right I do.......run what you brung and hope you brought enough....sad thing is all the SRT10 brings is too much weight, too big a price tag, and rear calipers on the back that are too big to mount a rim that you can actually get a sticky tire on

Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
SRT 10 Ram vs. SVT Lightning would be a good race
Well, I own an older (96) Dodge Ram ext cab. Good truck, it's been trouble-free, and I have plans to keep it a long time (just over 103K), but I'm fairly certain that Dodge inflates it performance numbers in newer vehicles (read post- "hemi").
One thing is for sure, they're heavy. I've found that pound to weight ratio is a good guide to performance , but once cars go over say 3700 pounds, inertia seems to come into play more.
My 99 Z28, is just under 10 pounds per HP, but that's RWHP. Truthfully, what would that SRT10 put to the wheels, maybe 425 at best? It weighs how much? Yeah, I know I've left out torque, but I ain't got all day to type.
Zap is making 385 to the wheels, and I think that his Ford will be lighter than the Dodge. To me, that says no one will "smoke" anyone. It would be a good race.
I just did a little math:
01 SVT Lightning curb weight is 4670 with 385 rwhp (I think Zap has that) that comes out to 12.12 pounds per RWHP.
06 SRT 10 Ram curb weight is 5150 pounds with the listed 500 HP that would be 10.3 pounds per HP, but if we use a reasonable RWHP of 425, guess what the ratio is?
12.12 pounds per RWHP.
Sounds like a race to me, and I'd lean towards the SVT as having the edge because of the weight disparity.
Once again, I ain't got time to throw torque into the mix.

no more hijacks and no arguing. This is not a "compare my truck to a dodge" thread.
